1899 Postage Due



Issued on December 1st 1899, 'Postage Due' stamps were for the collection of unpaid or underpaid postage on all types of mail. The simple single design for the whole issue was designed and printed by the Government Printing Office, Wellington, the stamps being of size 25mm x 20mm, in sheets of 120 stamps. (2 panes of 60 stamps.) Typography surface printed, with perforation gauge 11, on a De La Rue paper, with NZ and star watermark, which can be clearly seen above.
